Golden Heritage Cookbook, 1973: The social life at Fort Benning must have been astonishing! This is the Golden Heritage Cookbook, celebrating the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Officers’ Wives Club of Fort Benning, Fort Benning, Georgia, 1923 – 1973. The “Riverside” section at the front of the book has elegant hot appetizers, drinks, finger goods, and other food for entertaining that was served at Riverside, home of the Commanding General. Many if not most of the recipes serve 40 to 50! Other sections, like the Officers’ Call and Southern Hospitality, as well as the Appetizers section, have hearty recipes for entertaining. This copy of the cookbook has slightly rounded edges and bent corners from storage, but it is essentially in mint, never used condition. Even the tabs on the divider pages are in good shape. Stated first edition.
Mrs. Richard Stoltz was the editor. The Golden Heritage Cookbook is beautifully illustrated with historical illustrations by Mrs. Chester I. Christie.
