Gay Cookbook, 1965, Chef Lou Rand Hogan: Seriously campy cookbook! The Gay Cookbook, by Chef Lou Rand Hogan is illustrated with great cartoons by David Costain. Hard cover with dust jacket. 280 pages. This copy is from the true first edition, first printing by the Sherbourne Press, Los Angeles. This first edition is physically much larger than the second edition by Bell Publishing Company, Inc., a division of Crown Publishers, Inc., in arrangement with Sherbourne Press, also in 1965. This Sherbourne Press edition measures 10″ high by 7 1/2″ wide. The cover has some stains and some small chips are missing from the top of the spine cover. Inside, the book is perfect. The hinges are perfect. The binding is perfect. Each one of the 280 pages are perfect. This cookbook was never used. Really a great cookbook, cleverly written! Lots of fun information that could be very useful in planning weddings!
