This is a fascinating cookbook. It begins with recipes from Woodrow Wilson’s family cookbook, then continues short articles on domestic topics (like the White House’s tableware.) The bulk of the book, however, is pages of recipes contributed by the wives, daughters, and mothers of diplomats, senators, governors, congressmen, and others of D.C. society. Each woman’s recipes are prefaced by a gushing biography. About 50 pages of “head shots” are included.
