The story of John and Peter Delmonico’s cafe and pastry shop at 23 William Street, New York, opened in 1827. That cafe became the standard for New York–and the world–for excellence in food, in service, and luxury in appointments and surroundings. Hard cover with dust jacket. The jacket has a bit of shelf wear. 374 pages. This book does NOT contain recipes, but it does have many menus, an excellent bibliography, and a fine index. Book is in near-mint condition.
