The first edition was published in 1938. This copy is from the eleventh edition, printed in 1968. 115 pages. Gold card stock cover. Nearly mint condition. Tea room cookbooks are all the rage right now, you know. Cover has very minor shelf wear. Binding is firm. Pages are all completely clean and clear. No spots or tears.
Perry and Bond prefaced their cookbook by saying, “‘The turnpike road to people’s hearts, I find, lies through their mouths, or I mistake mankind.’ So with this thought in dixi mind, dear friends, we are passing along to you some of the Cricket’s choice recipes–recipes from the heart of the South.” Cookbook has a charming chapter called Some Typical “Dixie” Dishes and a Supplement Section that’s mostly astonishing desserts.
