Description

Cooking Round the World with a Wooden Spoon, Frederique Fredge, 1965, 1968, Signed by Author!  Memoirs with recipes!  Frederique Fredge was a young French-Swiss woman who arrived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, straight from her home town, Geneva, Switzerland, in 1931.  In a short time, she began writing short stories and selling them to magazines like Esquire.  This book is full of stories based on her experiences in America, stories that are centered around food and cooking, so, of course, she includes the recipes.  There are chapters on soup, chicken, fish, beef, lamb, veal, pork, smorgasbord, eggs, vegetables, potatoes, rice, salads, and international specialties.

This cookbook was first published by Doubleday & Company, Garden City, New York, in 1965.  In 1967, it was reprinted in 12 issues of the Philadelphia Inquirer.  And finally, it was printed by Redwood Empire Research and Education Institute, Eureka, California, in 1969.  This copy is from the first edition, first printing. Hard cover book with dust jacket.  213 pages.  Book is in mint condition.  The title page has a note to a former student and it is inscribed. Signed by the author.
