Compiled by the Woman’s Club of Westport and Illustrated by Connecticut Artists. Published by Harper & Brothers, Publishers, New York and London, in 1944. This copy is a first edition with NO dust jacket. Hard cover with gray linen-covered boards. 261 pages. Binding is firm. Pages are clean and clear.

This cookbook, published during World War II, has a preface by Van Wyck Brooks, recipes from world-famous chefs and many well-known celebrities, and incredible illustrations by United States artists. Focusing on the need for economy in wartime, it has a chapter on “Victory Specials.”
