Description

Clearwater Cooks, 1972, Temple B’Nai Israel Sisterhood, 1971-1972, First Edition, First Printing: Boy, these ladies could cook! Many, many recipes I’ve never even heard of, many with what I imagine is Hebrew or Yiddish. (If that’s not right, I apologize.) 236 pages, every one of them clean and clear.
glossy paper cover with plastic comb binding. Some of the pages are mildly yellowed, but on the whole, this cookbook is in mint, never used condition. Rare. I don’t think it was ever reprinted.

The cookbook has a lot of extras, like calorie counts, light poetry, a great index, charts for use of herbs and spices, blank pages for extra recipes, and more. For some often served dishes, there are several competing recipes. (I imagine ladies’ groups like this throwing up their hands and saying, “We’ll just include them all.” Many “good and easy” recipes. Many desserts and sweet recipes, plus many main dish recipe, plus veggies, breads, etc.
