Church Cook Book, 1908, Published for the Benefit of Church Work and Charity: Published by Williams & Wilkins, Baltimore, in 1908. First edition, presumed first printing, no other being mentioned. “Published for the benefit of church work and charity.” Small, elegant little cookbook with an irresistible picture of a chef deeply embossed on its cover. Packed full of practical recipes with common ingredients. Original tan cloth over boards has rubbing at perimeters and hinges, as well as a little scuffing and dirt; corners are lightly bumped and worn, as are the spine ends. Binding is secure. Front hinge is partly exposed, but holding completely. Back hinge is perfect. Pages are lightly tanned, but all are clean and free of stains or tears with the exception of the first page of the fish chapter. That page has a very faint stain. 180 pages. Definitely gift quality.
