This copy was published in 1914 by Dodge Publishing Company. Cookbook has a heavy cardboard cover with an attached heavy cardboard dust cover, front and back. It comes in its original cardboard gift box printed with cover illustration. 257 pages plus index. Pages are high gloss, clay-coated paper with an 1 1/2″ wide, delicate green art nouveau border on every page.
The cardboard gift box is a mess, with all four corners broken and with lots and lots of shelf wear. The book is in as-if-new condition. Absolutely pristine! Definitely a great gift for a great friend!
Part I of this pristine cookbook contains menus for 24 family dinner. (Includes the necessary recipes, of course.) Part II includes dinners for occasions, including two for Thanksgiving, two for Christmas, two for Lent, two for Easter, three for warm weather and two for emergency dinners. Part III includes menus for company and formal dinners, ten for company and four for formal dinners.
