Published by Literary Digest, Funk & Wagnalls, New York in 1926. First edition, third printing. Hard cover. 201 pages plus about 20 pages of plates and advertising. A menu-based cookbook, with the menus arranged by season, then recipes supplied for each dish on the menu. Many wonderful recipes I haven’t seen elsewhere, including many charming combination salads and sandwiches. Good vintage condition. The hinges are weak, but holding. Front hinge has been reinforced with clear librarian’s tape. Pages are clean and clear.
Frontiespiece is a sweet picture of a then-modern, now antique kitchen, with a tissue page over it, printed with “A Kitchen of Cheer / The color scheme here shown is not recommended arbitrarily but offered merely to indicate that a kitchen should always be airy and bright.” (See image.)
