Description
Betty Crocker’s Cookbook Sears Happy Holiday Edition in Nearly As-If-New Condition, 1972: The famous “red pie” version of the Betty Crocker Cookbook, originally published in 1969, was published in 1972 as the Sears edition. Published by Golden Press, New York, a division of Western Publishing Company, Inc. It has a 14-page insert bound into the book at the very front with illustrated Christmas recipes. The entire book is 480 pages, plus the insert. This copy is in nearly mint condition. The corners of the hard back cover are slightly rounded. Cover has some shelf wear, and the corners have scraped. Spine cover is worn at the top and base, and it has lost a 1/2″ square off the top. Both hinges are perfect. All pages are clean and clear. Wonderful copy. Would make a terrific gift.
At VintageCookbook.com we try to provide you with your mother’s cookbook! I know lots of current recipe bloggers write proudly that their recipes are “not from your mother’s cookbook.” We think the recipes in your mother’s cookbook provided food that was nutritious and warm and colorful and just plain yummy! We know that just looking at the cover of your mother’s Woman’s Home Companion Cook Book makes you feel good. Holding her Betty Crocker Cookbook, or her Better Homes and Gardens, or Good Housekeeping Cookbook in your hands is better than nostalgic. And cooking some of those dishes for your children will pass on a great tradition.
