Betty Crocker’s New Picture Cook Book: Five-ring binder version of one of the most sought-after cookbooks of all time. When I first began selling cookbooks at VintageCookbook.com, this cookbook was the most sought-after cookbook on the Internet. It is still very difficult to find. Published in 1961 by McGraw Hill Book Company, Inc., New York. The cover of this cookbook has shelf wear.. Spine cover hinges are worn, and they have been reinforced with clear librarian’s tape. The title page is missing. But, after that, the cookbook is in excellent vintage condition. Remarkably, nearly all of the pages are completely clean and clear. The tabs on the divider pages are in good shape. The last page of the index has the holes reinforced with those little round eyelet things.
Price reflects the cookbook’s condition! A difficult-to-find cookbook at an affordable price!
At VintageCookbook.com we try to provide you with your mother’s cookbook! I know lots of current recipe bloggers write proudly that their recipes are “not from your mother’s cookbook.” We think the recipes in your mother’s cookbook provided food that was nutritious and warm and colorful and just plain yummy! We know that just looking at the cover of your mother’s Woman’s Home Companion Cook Book makes you feel good. Holding her Betty Crocker Cookbook, or her Better Homes and Gardens, or Good Housekeeping Cookbook in your hands is better than nostalgic. And cooking some of those dishes for your children will pass on a great tradition.
