Description

Betty Crocker’s New Picture Cook Book: This is the hard cover (not the binder) version of one of the most sought-after cookbooks of all time. When I first began selling cookbooks at VintageCookbook.com, I was astonished at the enthusiasm of the people searching for this cookbook. And the prices people were willing to pay!

This copy is a first edition.  455 pages. Published by McGraw Hill Book Company, Inc., New York, with the 1961 copyright held by General Mills, Inc. This copy is as close to mint as I think I will ever find.  I’m willing to bet that the original owner of this cookbook was a Better Homes and Gardens or Good Housekeeping fan. Maybe she never used this cookbook! The cover is almost perfect, with corners a bit bumped. The pages are ALL perfectly clean and clear, even in the cake and cookie sections. The binding is firm, the hinges are perfect.  The spine cover is perfect, and it has been reinforced with clear librarian’s tape. .  There’s a 1/2″ split at the top of the spine. It’s been mended with clear librarian’s tape. No inscription or signature inside.   This is a wonderful copy in gift quality condition!
