Description
Betty Crocker’s Cookbook, 1969, 1972: Nearly perfect hardcover copy of this famous “red pie” cookbook. First published in 1969, this copy is from a later printing. Published by Golden Press, New York. 480 pages. This copy is “cook’s copy” condition. There’s shelf wear on the spine cover and all along the edges of the cover (including a small chunk off the top.) Some of the pages are rippled with slight water damage. Most of the pages are clean and clear. The text block is separate from the cover. The cover is kept together with librarian’s clear tape.
I’m including an image of the back of the cookbook because it is fun. You can see, in General Mills’ brief history of Betty Crocker, the eight official portraits of Betty Crocker, from 1936, 1955, 1965, 1969, 1972, 1980, 1986, and 1996. Here’s the link: www.generalmills.com/~/media/Files/history/hist_betty.pdf. Did you know that PBS did an episode of the History Kitchen all about Betty Crocker? Here’s that link: http://www.pbs.org/food/the-history-kitchen/who-was-betty-crocker/
