Best of Byerly’s: A Recipe Collection, 1985, Edina, Minnesota: A beautifully produced cookbook from the high-end Minnesota grocery store chain. (Now Lund’s and Byerly’s, I believe.) Padded, hard cover cookbook with wire comb binding and 237 pages. Lovely full-color, full-page food photography. Slight shelf wear on the cover. Pages are completely clean and clear. Binding is solid. Stated first edition, first printing. Copyright 1985 by Byerly’s, Inc., Edina, Minnesota.
Subtitled “From the Test Kitchens of Byerly’s Home Economists.” This cookbook has all the standard chapters of a comprehensive cookbook, with additional chapters called “Dietized,” “Cooking for a Crowd,” “Cooking School,” and “garnishes.” The Cooking School chapter features dishes taught at the Byerly School of Culinary Arts, opened in 1980 in Minneapolis–and they are all very special dishes from classes like “Designer Dinner,” “It’s Greek to Me,” and “A Royal Feast.”
