Description
Balanced Recipes by Pillsbury in Atomic Aluminum Case: This cookbook was copyrighted in 1933 by Pillsbury Flour Mills Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was prepared under the personal direction of Mary Ellis Ames, head of the staff of Pillsbury’s Cooking Service. This copy is in excellent vintage condition. The embossed aluminum case has a few dents and scratches, but it is very usable and closes nicely. The notebook rings still work well. A few pages have light spatters, but the majority are clean and clear.
The cookbook has tabbed dividers, with each divider page printed with an overview of that food category. The categories include bread, cakes, Luncheon and Supper Dishes, macaroni and spaghetti, cookies, desserts, luncheon dishes, meats and fish, pies, salads, soups and sauces, and vegetables. There’s also a section for suggested menus, with a section on Sunday Night Fireside Suppers, especially appropriate for 1933, the year President Franklin Delano Roosevelt began his Fireside Chats. The cookbook also still has extra recipe cards and blank divider pages, so you can add recipes or rearrange the recipes as you like.
