Originally published in 1942, this copy is from the tenth printing. Hard cover book with 226 pages. Former library book from the University of Wisconsin, but other than the library information, the book is in perfect condition. Binding is sound and hinges are strong. Pages are all clear and clean. Cover has a slight amount of shelf wear.

Clarkson provides information on the propagation of herbs, the planting, harvesting and drying of herbs, the fragrant herb garden, the indoor herb garden, herb products, herb dyes, uses of herbs in cooking, herb teas and beverages. The chapter called “Tabular Paragraphs on 101 Useful Herbs” provides propagation and uses of many herbs, like fenugreek, costmary, dittany of crete, cardoon, good King Henry, mullein, and many more. Each herb with a lovely line drawing.
