King Conch True True Bahamian Recipes, 1979, De’Ynza Burrows or “King Conch”: 110 page booklet written by Burrows and self-published under the name A King Conch International Publication, Nassau, Bahamas in January 1979. Apparently, Burrows almost single handedly made the meat of the conch into a popular food source, featuring it in hors d’oeuvres, snacks and appetizers, soups, seafood salads, main dishes, and grits and rice dishes. Traditional and native Bahamian recipes are shared, along with Burrows’ own recipes for conch, which he uses in as many ways as a typical American uses beef.
This cookbook is what I’d have to call rare, although I always hesitate to use that word. The cover has moderate shelf wear, with slightly worn color and rounded corners. Other than an inscription on page one, the pages are completely clear and clean. Binding is sound. Booklet is in excellent vintage condition. See one of Burrows’ recipes in our Recipes section, here: https://vintagecookbook.com/recipes/
