Frozen Banana Salad from Queen Cooks: Here’s a recipe from 1938 St. Louis!
Yes, we have the cookbook! See it here: https://www.vintagecookbook.com/product/queen-cooks-sugar-spice-everything-nice-1938/
Queen Cooks Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice, 1938: Hard cover cookbook compiled and published by the Mary and Martha Society, St. Mary Magdalan’s Parish, St. Louis, Mo. 118 pages of recipes and menus, as well as fun stuff like party ideas, with complete instructions for how to do activities like bobbing for apples. Has about 20 pages of local advertising, and ten blank pages for recipes. But I think the best part of this chatty cookbook is the chapter on how to make money with parties, like the Kidnapped Breakfast, the Buffalo Supper and Pyramid Parties.
This cookbook is in excellent vintage condition. The cover shows quite a bit of shelf wear. The pages are all clean and clear. The binding is firm and holding. It is extremely rare; I cannot find another copy on the Internet.
