Horizon Cookbook and Illustrated History of Eating and Drinking through the Ages, Volumes I & II, 1968: Cookbook and history by the editors of Horizon Magazine, Wendy Guehr, editor-in-chief, Tatiana McKenna, recipes editor, and Mimi Sheraton, historical foods consultant. Published by American Heritage Publishing, Inc., in 1968. Apparent first edition, first printing, no other being mentioned. Part One is the history volume, copiously illustrated discussions of food beginning with the Pharaohs and the Caesars, progressing through the English importers, and ending with fin de siecle France. Part Two has historic menus and international recipes from all these time periods.

Both books have hard covers, with 768 pages in total. Both books are in absolutely as-if-new condition, with perfect bindings, hinges, and completely clean pages. They come in their original cardboard book sleeve, which has a bit of shelf wear.
