Twenty-Four Little French Dinners and How to Cook Them, 1919, Cora Moore, First Edition, First Printing: Cookbook written by Cora Moore and published by E. P. Dutton & Company, New York, in 1919. Hard copy with 134 pages. First edition, first printing. Boards are covered with red linen. Embossed title and author’s name are done in gold. The cover has minor shelf wear, mainly from rubbing along the edges. The binding is firm, the hinges are in excellent condition, and all the pages are completely clean and clear.

Moore must have been a romantic. She writes, about the dinners, “[There is] magic in the arrangement of the menus, in the combinations of food, in the very names of the confections and in the little Gallic touches that, simple though they are, transform commonplace dishes into gastronomic delights.” [pp. v, vi.] She also sings the praises of the French in regard to their economy. The dinners she discusses–and provides the recipes for–include Rougets en Papillotes, Gigot de Mouton aux Epinards, and Filet de Sole a la Venetienne. Each dinner chapter includes the recipes, not only for the main dish, but also for the soup, salad and side dishes that go with the main dish. (Don’t worry, only the names of the dishes are in French. All the text and recipes are in English.)Twenty-four Little French Dinners,
