Christmas Possets from Recipes from an Old Farmhouse: A posset is a drink made of hot milk curdled with ale, wine, or the like, often sweetened and spiced. (Sounds dreadful to me!) Here is the Christmas posset recipe from Alison Uttley’s Recipes from an Old Farmhouse.
Of course we have the cookbook. See it here: https://www.vintagecookbook.com/product/recipes-from-an-old-farmhouse-uttley-1966-1967/
Recipes from an Old Farmhouse, Uttley, 1966, 1967: Absolutely charming little cookbook written by Alison Uttley, illustrated by Pauline Baynes. First published in 1967 by Faber and Faber Limited. Printed in Great Britain by Lowe & Bryne (Printers) Ltd., London. This copy from a second first edition printing, published in 1967 by The Cookery Book Club, London W.C.a., for sale only to its members.
Recipes and stories are from the author’s childhood in Derbyshire, England, when Thor Cake was eaten on Guy Fawkes night and in springtime the children helped to gathered cowslips for Cowslip Wine.
This cookbook is in nearly mint condition. Hard cover with dust jacket. 132 pages. Dust jacket has a very small amount of shelf wear. Book is in absolutely mint condition. Definitely gift quality! (I know the pages look a little blotchy. I had very bad lighting when I took them.)
