Home Comfort Cook Book, Wrought Iron Range Co., St. Louis, U.S.A., 1919: Cookbook advertising the Wrought Iron Range Co., makers of those old, gorgeous, black wrought iron stoves or ranges that burned either wood or coal. Published in 1919, the 55th anniversary of the company. Features a ten-page, illustrated, part by part description of the building of one of their stoves, full-colored illustrations of prize ribbons won in contests such as the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, St. Louis, explanations about their materials used, full descriptions to laboratory test run on their materials. Also has items like Ropp’s Perpetual Calendar, menus, hints for housewives, and 51 pages of recipes. Then, it has a 12-page, state-by-state, county-by-county list of specific persons names it calls “References.” It seems to be a list of people who own a Home Comfort Range. It also has 30 pages of testimonials of people who own the stoves, and 14 pages of testimonials from hotels and institutions using the stoves.
This booklet is in good antique condition, only. All the pages are clean and clear. Spine cover mended with clear librarian’s tape. First couple of pages are loose from binding, as are the last couple.
